The Reds stumbled a bit last night, falling late to the Padres in San Diego by a 1-0 score.  That loss leaves the Reds at four games over .500 with 80 left to play and in the thick of the playoff hunt.

No that that many guys have worn number 4 over the years for the Reds, but there are some pretty good names on the list.  One of the best was Kiki Cuyler, who played in Cincinnati for three years toward the end of his Hall of Fame career.   Even though he was in his late thirties at the time, he put up some decent numbers for the Reds during the heart of the Depression.   The year after he retired, the Reds won the National League pennant and faced the New York Yankees in the World Series.

In the spirit of seeing the Reds win after retiring their current losing streak, Kiki Cuyler is our Number 4.
