Cincinnati Cyclones Win Game 1

Thursday night marked the start of the ECHL Playoffs for the Cincinnati Cyclones as they traveled to Orlando to face the Solar Bears in Game 1 of a seven game series.
Cincinnati has won two Kelly Cups since 2008 and they are looking for their third. As the 5 seed in the Eastern Conference the Cyclones face the #4 seed in the Orlando Solar Bears. Game 1 in Orlando turned out to be a great on for the Cyclones as they emerged the victors 4-2.
The first period of the game saw four goals get scored. A shooting frenzy resulted in a very exciting first period for the 4,605 fans in attendance at the Amway Center in Orlando. Scoring for the Cyclones in the first period was Wade Morgan who netted both goals for the Cyclones. The first for the lead and the second to draw the game even again.
In the second the Cyclones would strike again with another goal by Brett Wysopal gave the Cyclones a 3-2 lead. From there the Cyclones wouldn’t look back, another goal by Trevor Lewis in the third period sealed the deal for the Cyclones and a 4-2 victory.
Cincinnati had 26 shots on goal compared to Orlando’s 36. Cincinnati made better shots on Thursday in what was a very competitive first game.
The two teams return to the ice on Sunday at 7:00pm for Game 2 of the series. The teams come to Cincinnati next Wednesday for a guaranteed two games at home, a third will be used if necessary.
