Cincinnati Bengals Hoping For December To Remember
By Jesse Mapati
The Cincinnati Bengals are preparing for the final five games stretch of the regular season, and are hoping this month of December a one to remember.
The team is coming off a much needed bye week, and are getting healthy at the right time. They will head to the west coast to take on the San Diego Chargers (5-6), who are coming off a huge win at Kansas City against the Chiefs and are fighting with 6 other teams for the final playoff spot in the AFC, a win here is huge because it boost the team conference record which stands right now at 5-3.
Next Weekend the Indianapolis Colts come to Paul Brown Stadium, a team the Bengals are fighting for the #2 seed in the AFC. A win would give Cincinnati the tiebreak over them. The Bengals have already beat the current two seed in the AFC (New England Patriots, 8-3), if Cincinnati can win these next two games coming up, the two seed and a first-round bye is possible if the Patriots lose again.
Bengals Cornerback Chris Crocker has the right mind set going down the stretch run saying “I’m really, really trying to win out these last five games, so that we have a shot to get a first round bye.” Crocker said. “That’s really my goal because I see how close we are and I know how much that could help going forward.” I really want to win these last five games. That what I’m thinking about.”
The Pittsburgh Steelers and the Baltimore Ravens play each other in a basically AFC North elimination game on Thanksgiving night in Baltimore. Three weeks from now a huge showdown in the steel city between the Bengals and the Steelers on Sunday night is now a crucial game than it was viewed a month ago when Pittsburgh was winless. After that game, the Bengals will have the final two games of the regular season at home against the Minnesota Vikings and the last game against the Baltimore Ravens, where it could have playoff implications for the third straight year.
Thia team has the right mind set and knowing they control their own destiny, and with all the key injuries blows they have had, this still can be a special season all about getting it done now.
