The highly anticipated pitching matchup today between Reds Mat Latos and Mets Matt Harvey ended with both getting no decisions as both pitchers struggled a bit both allowing 4 runs wasn’t bad but the hitters in both side were putting the ball in play today. Reds ended up rallying for 3 in the ninth to break a 4-4 tie as Brandon Phillps continues his clutch hitting as he delivered an RBI double and Todd Frazier pinch hit two run single made it 7-4 as Chapman came in got his 10th save of the year as the Redlegs sweep the Mets as they won this afternoon 7-4.

Zack Cozart had 4 hits today first time back in the lineup since sitting out the first two game of the series with sickness. Three of Cozart’s hits came off Harvey and I highly  doubt anybody thought that he would get a hit off of him due to the fact Cozy has been struggling lately. Joey Votto continues his hot hitting as he belted a two run home run off of Harvey in the 3rd to make it 2-1 at the time. Phillips in the seventh hit a RBI single to break a 2-2 tie and the Reds regained the lead back. Jay Bruce RBI groundout made it 4-2, Mets came back and score two in the bottom inning to tie it.

Mat Latos you know he was amped for this game today he didn’t at all pitched poorly just had a few pitches he will like to have back. His final line 6 2/3 innings pitched allowed four runs allowed and striking out four. Its unfortunate he didn’t get the win he should have 7 or 8 this season but I know he will take the team victory any day.

The Reds end the nine game 3 cities road trip at 7-2 and will deserved a much needed day off tomorrow back at the Queen City before hosting the Cubs for 3 games at Great American Ball Park beginning Friday Night then the Cleveland Indians come in for two games. This team is on a roll come out and support a great team lets fill up the GABP this Memorial Day weekend.
