Series Preview: Tigers @ Reds

Not a whole lot more to preview different than that of the last series. It has changed venues from Comerica Park to Great American Ball Park, and this time around the fans will get to see David Price, Justin Verlander and Johnny Cueto. Besides that, everything is the same.

Probables:

Game 1 – DET – David Price (6-2, 2.44), CIN – Johnny Cueto (4-4, 2.85)

Game 2 – DET – Justin Verlander (0-0, 3.60), CIN – Mike Leake (3-4, 3.45)

Tonight’s Lineups

After a night of Billy Hamilton moved up to the eighth spot, he will drop back down to the ninth spot when returning to a lineup without a DH.

Career Numbers:

David Price in his career against the Cincinnati Reds is nearly untouchable. He is 1-0 in his career with a 1.69 ERA. Last season he was 1-0 with a 1.08 ERA. Justin Verlander on the other hand, has been surprisingly more more “touchable” for the Reds.  He has not recorded a win nor a loss against the Queen City, He has an ERA of 3.00 and the Reds have hit .261 off of him. In inter-league play, Verlander is 25-3 with an ERA of 2.89 during his career.

On the Reds side, Cueto is 13-6 with a 2.63 ERA in his inter-league experiences. Leake on the other hand is 4-6 with a  3.83 ERA.

The Reds this season are 2-8 in inter-league play, the Tigers are 7-6.
