Reds Recap: Cubs Win
Before Thursday night’s loss the the Chicago Cubs, the Cincinnati Reds had won their last four games.
Can anyone really blame the team for dropping this one? Brandon Phillips, Billy Hamilton, and Zack Cozart were all absent from the line up. In fact Joey Votto, Jay Bruce and Todd Frazier were the only main stays that started this game for our boys of summer.
Couple the lack of offense with Michael Lorenzen having a rookie moment / welcome to the MLB game, and it was doomed from the start for the Reds.
An interesting note, Kristopher Negron started Center Field for the injured Billy Hamilton, but still hit behind the pitcher.
Reds country was under the impression that the only reason Hamilton was hitting that low was because of his confidence level. Are we dating to say that Michael Lorenzen and any other bench player are still better hitters than Negron?
Either way, it will be interesting to see how they respond after having their four game streak snapped. Here is tonight’s line up.
