Pitcher of the week has to go to the man who put in the best performance out of anyone on the staff. Sometimes there can be some varying opinions for this, but I don’t think that too many members of the staff were even deserving of consideration.

While Raisel Iglesias only appeared in two games this week, one of the games was stellar. Against Atlanta, Iglesias put in eight innings of fantastic work, regardless of the fact that he is also a rookie. Over those eight innings he only allowed a total of two hits and he struck out five. People have been quoted as saying that the atmosphere was electric when he was on the mound.

Couple this with two innings of relief and only one earned run, Iglesias is well deserved of being our Riverfront Ball pitcher of the week.
