NCAA Tournament Notes and Links: Cincinnati Bearcats Prepare for Purdue Boilermakers

The University of Cincinnati Bearcats will open their play in the 2015 NCAA Tournament with a second-round game against the Purdue Boilermakers on Thursday evening in Louisville, KY. Purdue is the Number 9 seed in the Midwest Regional, while UC is Number 8, and the winner will likely play undefeated Kentucky in the third round.

- Tom Groeschen of the Cincinnati Enquirer points out that, while the Bearcats hold the higher seed, the Boilers were slight favorites as of Tuesday evening.
- Groeschen also points out that the Bearcats have already sold out of their allotment of tickets — 550 of them — for their second-round game against Purdue.
- WCPO breaks down the upcoming Purdue game and sees a potential defensive struggle in the making, as UC is stingy with the ball but does not score well, and Purdue is a moderate scoring team at best.
- Meanwhile, Purdue’s Matt Painter is trying to dispel the notion that maybe Cincinnati will be an easy out since they lost their own conference championship last weekend.
