Former Red Jonny Gomes Signs With Braves

The Atlanta Braves and former Cincinnati Reds OF Jonny Gomes have agreed to a one-year, $4 million deal, Tim Brown of Yahoo Sports reports.

The 34-year-old California native spent last season with Boston Red Sox and Oakland Athletics. In total, Gomes hit a mediocre .234, and only six home runs. Gomes will likely be competing for the starting LF spot.

The Braves are not going to be anything like the team they were last year, as they have a new GM, John Hart, and a few key players are gone, such as Jason Heyward, Justin Upton, and Evan Gattis.

The Braves are predicted by many to finish last in the NL East this year.
