If the Cincinnati Bengals are going to improve their record to 4-0 today, on the road against the New England Patriots, they will likely have to do it without linebacker Vontaze Burfict and wide receiver Marvin Jones, both listed as “doubtful” by the Bengals. As Jason Marcum reports on CincyJungle.com, though,  both players traveled with the team to Boston yesterday.

While having the two standouts with the team opens a slight possibility that at least one will play against the Pats, it still seems like a long shot.  Jones didn’t practice all week after injuring his ankle on Monday, and Burfict is recovering from his second concussion of the season.  He dressed at practice Friday but participated in just a light concussion protocol.

The status of other Bengals players, as of Friday, include:

  • DT Brandon Thompson (knee) – out
  • G Kevin Zeitler (calf) – doubtful
  • DE Margus Hunt (shoulder) – questionable
  • LB Sean Porter (hamstring) – probable
  • DE Robert Geathers (toe)- probable
  • S George Iloka (abdomen)- probable
  • RB Rex Burkhead (knee)- probable
  • LB Emmanuel Lamur (concussion)- probable
  • G Mike Pollak (knee)- probable
