Bengals Notes:
The Cincinnati Bengals will finally take to the field for a REAL game this afternoon, as they kick off the 2014 NFL season on the road against the Baltimore Ravens. In a rivalry game that will start shaping the AFC North right out of the gates, the Bengals will unveil new schemes on both offense and defense, courtesy of new coordinators Hue Jackson and Paul Guenther.
Bengals fans know that the team has struggled in Baltimore and in “big” games during quarterback Andy Dalton’s three years in the league, and this one represents a little of both.
With a big contract in hand, Dalton will be under pressure from fans and team ownership to get over the playoff hump, and the first step toward that is slaying their Baltimore dragons.
A maturing Dalton, fresh coordinators and a base of stability over the last few years should allow the Bengals to get off on the right foot today.
Prediction: Bengals over Ravens, 23-17
