Mesoraco is having an outstanding season, but I fear the cards (and the Cards) are stacked against him for the All-Star game. In particular, Yadier Molina of the Cardinals has a healthy lead in fan voting, so that saves St. Louis manager Mike Matheny from having to wear the homer hat in selecting his own backstop. Jonathan Lucroy will be hard to ignore as the raking catcher for maybe the best team in baseball (Milwaukee Brewers), and Evan Gattis (Braves) is probably too stout offensively to ignore. And that is a whole bunch of catchers.
Prediction: Left off roster
