Johnny Cueto is a sure thing, the surest of things with the 2014 Cincinnati Reds. So you can’t blame me for going to a movie assuming all would be well with Cueto on the mound. With national attention zoned in on him Cueto had his worst outing of the season, fitting.
What movie did I see you ask? I can tell you, I saw Godzilla. It wasn’t as good as I expected but it was better than the Matthew Broderick so that is all that matters to me. Brian Cranston was great, he’s an absolutely obsessive conspiracy theorist who turns out to be right. His son, no clue who he is, is a a die hard military guy. Constantly belittling his dad for his theories.
Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen’s sister is in the movie. Elle is her name and she’s about as good at acting as the twins were in Full House. Anyway I won’t spoil it for anyone, but damn are the monsters big. My opinion they should have been a little smaller, then again what do I know about monster movies? I’ll give it 3.5/5 starts, you have to see it for yourself.
Cincinnati Reds (20-24)
Johnny Cueto was on the mound for the Reds. He is currently the best pitcher in the majors. Tuesday though he did not pitch like that. Lasting only 5.1IP his shortest outing of the season and first start below 7 innings Cueto allowed 6 hits and 8 runs, 6 of those were earned runs.
This was bound to happen sooner or later. Cueto went on an absolute tear to start the season, one bad start doesn’t mean the season is over so step off the ledge Reds fans, if you haven’t jumped already.
Cincinnati’s offense did not have an answer for the Nationals Tuesday night. Billy Hamilton had a 1 hit, 2 RBI night, another great building night for the young center fielder. Todd Frazier had a solid night as well, it has been great to see the third baseman really come into his own this season.
The rubber match of the series is at 4:05pm Wednesday, Alfredo Simon will be on the mound for the Reds.
Cincinnati Cyclones
The Cincinnati Cyclones are in the Eastern Conference Finals of the ECHL Kelly Cup Playoffs. After the first two games the Cyclones are tied 1-1 with the Greenville Road Warriors.
Cincinnati won Game 1 4-1 in Cincinnati, Game 2 Tuesday night saw a plethora of offense as Greenville won 8-4. Game 3 will be Thursday at 7pm in Greenville.
Super Bowl
Super Bowl 52 will be held in Minneapolis, Minnesota at the Vikings new stadium. I refuse to refer to it as Super Bowl LII as the NFL would like, it looks dumb and roman numerals are done with.
Have fun in Minnesota in February though NFL. Sure the game is indoors but you still have to get to the game. A few feet of snow and sub zero temperatures will be a blast. You’re not going to get as lucky as you did in New York.
I am happy the game isn’t in New Orleans. What an awful stadium the Superdome is, the game looks awful from that field, the lighting is terrible and the turf looks bad.
Video of the Day
Gotta celebrate something in Minnesota right? Hate the guy in the back jumping up and down, double High 5ing the people around him.
