The Morning Update becomes the Afternoon Update for today. I actually have a life outside of blogging for RFB? Who knew, ended up going on a long bike ride this morning and now I’m here. At least it made me forget about Peralta dominating the Cincinnati Reds last night.
Here are my complaints for today. First off MLB Replay was supposed to be this great thing, the thing that would bring baseball into this century. Instead it has done nothing but infuriate fans and managers alike. Last night was just the latest display of cluelessness from the umpires. How a ball that hits on top of the wall and is not ruled a home run is beside me. The ball left the park, the front of the wall is in the park, on top means it passed the wall but not in the eyes of baseball.
Also I want to complain about the Donald Sterling situation. Not even about Sterling though, sure he is disgusting and a piece of garbage. I want to talk about his girlfriend, first off stop calling her a model. She is by no means a model, I call them how I see them and she’s not a model. She is just a 31 year old with no redeeming qualities that ruined her life. Let’s move on now. Also everyone, stop apologizing for everything it is seriously getting out of hand.
Cincinnati Reds (13-16)
Well you knew this was coming. One night after scoring 8 runs against the best team in baseball the Reds returned with a big goose egg Friday night. A 2-0 loss at the hands of Willy Peralta is not what the Reds wanted.
On Star Wars night the Reds did not have the force with them. Getting only 3 hits on the night by the first three in the order will not win games. Manager Bryan Price also shook up the lineup Friday much the chagrin of fans and critics alike. Cincinnati returns to GABP tonight for game 3 of the series at 7:10.
Kentucky Derby
Derby day is here again! Last night Untapable dominated the Kentucky Oaks as the post favorite. Today California Chrome looks to replicate what Untapable did and win the Kentucky Derby as the post time favorite. California Chrome is sitting at 2-1 odds at the moment, if you are betting today do not put your money on CC. 2-1 is essentially the odds makers guaranteeing that horse will win, you’ll make no money.
My pick for the Derby changed, I am now going with Dance With Fate going off at 14-1. This horse can close, Matt doesn’t know horse racing, talk to me after the Derby. You’re welcome in advance.
Flying Pig Marathon
Cincinnati’s most famous marathon goes off Sunday morning at 6:30am. If you are running in the race good luck to you, RFB’s own Jesse Mapati will be there so cheer him on if you see him.
If you are going to the Reds game tomorrow the first pitch has been pushed back to avoid a conflict with the marathon. The first pitch is now 4:10pm.
Video of the Day
I hate Notre Dame like poison. Can’t stand them and their faux Catholic facade of being the “good guys” but this video is great. Have coaches read their players tweets. Pure gold.
