Another day another Cincinnati Reds win. Honestly, did you really think they would turn it around this quickly? I don’t think so America.
Before we get into Cincinnati news lets talk about the movie Don Jon. Yes the one with Joseph Gordon Levitt, Scarlett Johansson and Tony Danza. This masterpiece of garbage will was 90 minutes of your very valuable life.
Quick synopsis, Joseph Gordon-Levitt is addicted to porn, a staten island italian that is the hot shot at the club getting girls. Then he meets Scarlett Johansson who is a 10, they start dating. She meets his dad, Tony Danza, who obviously wants to get her. Then she catches Joesph watching porn, twice. So they break up, real heart breaking stuff.
Then Joseph goes back to the clubs, gets girls, goes to school meets some old chick and then I fell asleep so I can’t tell you how it ends. To be honest I don’t even care how it ends, Tony Danza ruined the whole movie. It also made me glad I’m not from an italian family in New York. Those accents, holy hell. But Danza is not an italian tough guy like he portrays, just stop Tony go back to teaching.
Onto sports now.
Cincinnati Reds
Three wins in a row for the Reds, three series wins in a row as well. A 2-1 victory Thursday afternoon in Pittsburgh not only gave the Reds confidence but it allows them to ride high into Atlanta this weekend.
Another great outing by the starting pitcher, Tony Cingrani (2-2), led the Reds to their 11th win of the season. 6.o IP, allowing 6H, 1ER and 7SO was Cingrani’s line following his start. The pitcher picked up the W as well.
The Reds bullpen who has struggled mightily this season, in fact they are the worst in the majors. Thursday though the bullpen was outstanding. Logan Ondrusek, Sam LeCure and Jonathan Broxton all threw less than 12 pitches on their way to victory.
Cincinnati (11-11) is back in action Friday night against the Atlanta Braves (14-7) at 7:35pm.
Alfredo Simon
Some unfortunate news came out Thursday afternoon as a woman in Washington D.C. filed a civil lawsuit against Alfredo Simon accusing him of rape. These are very serious allegations.
A quick rundown of the lawsuit, the woman accuses Simon of rape in April of 2013 at a Washington D.C. hotel after meeting at The Huxley nightclub. The woman went to the hospital the next day where a rape kit was administered. She pressed charges on May 9th. The DA in Washington decided not to take up the case. That is where the civil suit comes in.

Dez Wells
Former Xavier basketball player Dez Wells won his lawsuit against the University. Xavier University expelled wells and accused him of rape. Wells was adamant from the beginning that he had never met the girl, and that nothing had ever happened.
The university never gave Wells a hearing, or heard his side of the story. They labeled him as a rapist and dismissed him from the university. From there Wells went on the offensive filing a lawsuit against the university while playing at Maryland.
This is not Xavier’s first run in with rape accusations and the mishandling of them. Wells and the university settled out of court, the terms of the settlement were not made public.
