The Cincinnati Bengals signed free agent cornerback R.J. Stanford on Monday. I can guarantee it had Bengals fans saying “who?.”
Stanford played the first 13 games of last season with the Miami Dolphins before an ankle injury ended his season Dec 8. He ranked tied for sixth among the Dolphins with five special teams tackles. In 2012, he played all 16 games for the Dolphins and had 15 tackles on defense and six on special teams.
The Carolina Panthers took Stanford in the seven-round of the 2011 draft. In 41 NFL games, he has 27 tackles on defense, 12 tackles on special teams and one interception.
Cincinnati continues to signed no name players, I know fans are not happy with the off-season the team has had so far, we are hoping for a solid NFL draft in April.
