In their fifth spring training game of the season the Cincinnati Reds annihilated the San Diego Padres 15-4 Sunday afternoon in Arizona. A dominating performance by the offense and the pitching staff led the Reds to their best performance of the young season.

Cincinnati recorded 20 hits in the game thanks in part to all starters getting a hit and nearly every replacement getting one as well. Jay Bruce, Donald Lutz, Skip Schumaker and Roger Bernadina all tied for most hits with 2. Zach Cozart scored three runs on three at bats leading the Reds. Todd Frazier and Zach Cozart both stole bases, the Bryan Price green light is real if Frazier stole.

Overall it was a phenomenal day for the Reds as their had a combined shutout through 5.2 innings, even then they only gave up 4 runs for the game. Brett Marshall picked up the win for the Reds with his two shutout innings.

Amazing stat of the day is the Reds scored 15 runs off 20 hits and they still left 10 runners on base. Incredible amount of hitting and reaching base today by the Reds. It is only spring training but still an impressive outing.

The Reds are now 3-2 in the Cactus League, they return to the diamond at home in Goodyear on Monday against the Seattle Mariners.
