The Cincinnati Bearcats broke into the Top 25 last week moving into the 19th position after being previously unranked. This week the Bearcats moved up to the 15th position up 4 spots from last week. This is the highest ranking for the Bearcats this season who are in the midst of a 10 game winning streak.
Along with moving up to the 15th spot the Bearcats also boast the 21st best RPI in the country. RPI is the Ratings Percentage Index and it measures a teams schedule and quality of wins and losses. Cincinnati is currently 17-2 with 1 win over a Top 25 school and 2-2 verse schools in the 25-50 range. Not bad for the Bearcats who also moved up in the mock brackets this week to either a 5 or six seed depending on who you look at.
Cincinnati sitting at 15th in the AP Top 25 and 16th in the USA Today Coaches Poll is currently the highest ranked team in the state of Ohio as Ohio State dropped this week to 17th in the AP and will likely continue to drop after their loss to Nebraska on Monday night, a Nebraska team that the Bearcats defeated earlier in the season.
The Bearcats have a two games before their first showdown of the season against the Louisville Cardinals. Thursday night the Bearcats will face the UCF Knights at 9pm ET inside Cincinnati’s Fifth Third Arena on CBSSN.
