win over Appalachian State was used as another warmup for the Bearcats to gel together.

Led by seniors Sean Kilpatrick and Titus Rubles the Bearcats pulled away early and coasted to the finish from there. Rubles and Tony Caupain led the team with 13 points followed closely by Kilpatrick with 12 points Cincinnati’s offense looked better Saturday although it is not perfect yet. Freshman Jermaine Lawrence played 22 minutes with 5 points and 6 rebounds, a solid day for the New York native although his scoring could use some work.

Cincinnati head coach Mick Cronin played thirteen players on Saturday as he looked to get everyone some playing time. Fan favorite David Nyarsuk “Big Dave” saw some playing time, 7 minutes with 4 rebounds and 2 points. Nyarsuk his a big man that can make a difference in games this season.

Three games into the season the Bearcats have looked good, two wins over inferior opponents and a quality win over NC State of the ACC is a decent way to start the new season. The Bearcats next tough game comes December 7th against the University of New Mexico Lobos followed by the annual matchup with Xavier. If the Bearcats keep winning they should be ranked by the UNM game.

Until then the Bearcats return to the court Wednesday Nov. 20th against the Campbell Fighting Camels at 7pm ET at Fifth Third Arena.
