Bengals must cut 6 more players by 4pm Tuesday afternoon.

Of the 6 players released Sunday only one was a returning player. 5th year tight end Richard Quinn was released to free agency. Not a surprise due to the the Bengals drafting Tyler Eifert in this years NFL Draft. The other five players were placed on waivers, once they clear waivers they will be free agents, it is almost certain all will clear waivers.

The other five players are first year defensive tackle Vaughn Meatoga and four undrafted rookies. The rookies include wide receiver Jheranie Boyd, cornerback Terrance Brown, linebacker Jordan Campbell and kicker/punter Quinn Sharp.

If you watched Saturday nights game against the Cowboys you will recognize Sharp’s name as he kicked a 28 yard field goal as well as a 47 yarder against the Falcons. Sharp was released due to the fact that the Bengals don’t need a back up kicker at this time. He will be a great pick up for a team.

The roster cuts that have to happen by Tuesday will almost certainly include some bigger name players. In particular Taylor Mays who has had an up and down career. Saturday night twitter wanted Mays released then, I believe there is a spot on the roster for the young Mays although time will tell.

RFB will keep you updated as soon as the next 6 happen.
