Cincinnati took the last two games of the series. First on a cold wednesday night Joey Votto got his first hit of the season and at the most opportune time. A walk off single up the middle allowed Choo to score from second giving the Reds their first win of the season in great fashion.
Today the Reds were led by a sore nosed Chris Heisey who is subbing for Ryan Ludwick while he sits on the DL for a little while. Heisey and Choo led the Reds today both batting runs in and both hitting key home runs for the Reds in a time when the bats have been a little quiet.
So far this is what we know about the Reds. They guys we expect to be hitting aren’t, i.e. Votto and Bruce. While key role players have been hitting Choo, Heisey and Frazier. Also how great has this Choo trade been for the Reds, he is not only hitting in the lead off spot he is also play the field well. On a side note I saw Stubbs sliding for the Indians into a wall, where was that here?
Overall leaving a series against the Angels taking 2 games is a complete success this early in the season. Expect the Angels to be in the playoffs.
The Reds face the Washington Nationals this weekend. Key match up is Sunday, Cueto v. Strasburg. Hope to see GAPB packed.
