The Cincinnati Bengals could be looking at the running back position in this April’s NFL draft. Bernard Scott, Brian Leonard and Cedric Peerman are set to be free agents and it doesn’t seem likely all three of them will be back next year.

Cincinnati should look for a running back within the first three rounds of the draft. Alabama running back Eddie Lacey could be the guy Cincinnati will target with one if their two picks in the second round.

He decided to declare for this years draft, forgoing is senior season with the Crimson Tide. He is a 6’0″, 220-pound bruising running back that ran for 1322 yards and 17 touchdowns last season. Lacey ran for an average of 6.5 yards a carry during his junior year.

Mark Ingram and Trent Richardson were the last two Alabama products who have had an instant impact for their NFL teams. If their success is any indication of how Lacey’s career will go, Cincinnati should strongly consider taking him with a second round pick.
