The Washington Redskins got a scare in the final minutes of Sunday’s matchup against the Baltimore Ravens. Their star quarterback, RGIII went down with a knee injury. The good news is, in a controversial move in this year’s draft, Shanahan chose to draft another high caliber quarterback in Kirk Cousins. Cousins came out and led the team to a victory. In the meantime, Robert Griffin III had an MRI on his knee and it is just a sprain. It is unknown which quarterback will get the start next week.

The Cowboys’ Josh Brent, recently incarcerated, accused of driving drunk and causing the death of Jerry Brown, was released from jail today on a $500,000 bond. This is not the first time Brent has been in trouble for driving under the influence. He spent a 60 day stint in an Illinois jail in 2009, as well.

In baseball news: The LA Dodgers signed South Korean left-handed pitcher Ryu Hyun-jin to a six year, $36 million contract. The Dodgers also made a move to wrap up Zack Greinke for six years in a contract that will pay the pitcher $147 million.

The Royals dealt pitchers Wil Myers, Jake Odorizzi, Mike Montgomery, and third baseman Patrick Leonard to Tampa Bay for James Shields, Wade Davis, and either cash or an unnamed player. This is a big trade for Kansas City, who is trying to make moves to better themselves next season.
