It is over. Finally the hype around the first round of the NFL Draft is over and the Cincinnati Bengals have a new stud cornerback to add to their already stout secondary. Sure the Bengals passed on Teddy Bridgewater a move that surely would have excited the fans. Although Darqueze Dennard seems to have excited everyone.

Biggest story of the night was Johnny Manziel, ESPN mentioned him 113 times, that is more than the first five picks combined. Watching the World Wide Leader fawn over him grew tiring after pick 4. Then when the Cowboys came around at 16 everyone assumed Jerry Jones would take Manziel and Twitter would crash and ESPN would orgasm and pass out. But the boys passed. Thankfully.

In other news, Apple is buying Beats by Dre for $3.2B. That is astronomical to me. Apple already has great in-house speakers and ear-pods. We got you covered here at RFB, sports and tech talk.

Cincinnati Bengals

With the 24th pick in the NFL Draft the Cincinnati Bengals selected cornerback Darqueze Dennard, Michigan State. Dennard is the exact type of cornerback the Bengals needed, a hard nose, tough corner that isn’t afraid to hit and be rough. Dennard had 4 interceptions, 10 passes defended and 52 tackles for the Spartans last season.

Dennard also becomes the first Spartan to be drafted in the first round in 11 years. He will come into a team that currently has Leon Hall, Terrance Newman, Adam Jones and Dre Kirkpatrick in the secondary. An already good secondary just got better. Although Newman and Hall may not be with the team past this season.

Cleveland Browns

First the Browns traded back from #4 to #9, they then traded up to #8 for absolutely no reason. A move that was so Cleveland it hurt. Then the team released this picture.

So Cleveland it hurts.

If you can’t figure out the problem leave your job, your school, where ever you are and head back to your elementary school.

Cincinnati Reds

The Reds are back at it Friday night at GABP with the Colorado Rockies coming to town. Cincinnati is in the midst of the crossroads of the season. After taking 3 of 4 from the Milwaukee Brewers they subsequently lost 2 in a row in excruciating fashion to the Boston Red Sox. Two losses that had the fans in a complete meltdown.

Johnny Cueto (3-2) is on the mound for the Reds tonight. If there is one thing certain in the Reds organization right now it is the fact that Cueto has been dominant this season. The Rockies are a very hot team right now, third baseman Nolan Arenado is in the middle of a 28 game hitting streak. Cueto will be looking to end that tonight at 7:10pm at GABP as long as the rain holds off.

Cincinnati Cyclones

The Cyclones won Thursday night in Fort Wayne 3-2 in overtime giving the Cyclones a 2-1 series lead over the Komets. Game 4 will be Saturday at 7:30pm in Fort Wayne. With their win Thursday night the Cyclones have ensured the series will be coming back to Cincinnati.

Best goal celebration I’ve seen in a long time. Bravo, or whatever that is in Russian.
