Alright I have meetings today so lets get into this. The Cincinnati Reds managed to come back last night to blow it in the 12th inning losing to the Red Sox 4-3. The Cincinnati Bengals are still exploring the possibility of drafting a quarterback. The NFL did a Twitter Q&A with the commissioner Roger Goodell yesterday, that went as well as could be expected.

Last night all of you lucky enough to watch the Reds game on FSOhio got treated to Thom Brennaman. A man who knows next to nothing about sports, seems to despise Cincinnati sports and is an all around mundane, annoyance of a man. Honestly he struggles to understand the simplest concepts in baseball. For example on a bunt to the pitcher the runner at third stands no chance of making it into home safely. Yet Brennaman can’t grasp that concept, instead he proceeded to talk about it for three innings, then vomit all over Joey Votto for ending the inning. Just a wonderful broadcaster that can not find his way out of Cincinnati fast enough.

Seriously I’d rather read Monica Lewinsky’s article in Vanity Fair about the Clinton scandal than listen to Thom or Marty for that matter. Poor Monica.

Cincinnati Reds (15-17)

The Reds had a chance to sign Grady Sizemore this offseason, they passed. Sizemore got them on Tuesday with a walk off double in the 12th inning handing the Reds their 17th loss of the season.

Homer Bailey was on the mound for the Reds looking to build off his last start which was a solid one. Instead Bailey started off shaky before settling down after giving up three runs. The $106M man hasn’t produced like the club has expected but the overreaction by the fans has grown tiresome.

Cincinnati’s rookie catcher nearly opened the game up in the 9th with what appeared to be a homerun to right field, only to have the ball caught a foot from the wall. A stalemate would ensue over the next four innings before Sizemore would end the game.

Read the whole write up here. Game 2 of the series is Wednesday night at 7:10pm.

NFL Draft

Nothing knew to report on the Cincinnati Bengals front other than Marvin Lewis said watching the draft is the equivalent to ‘watching paint dry.’ In all honestly he is completely right, the draft is the most boring event in sports. I’ll break it down for you. You spend 4 hours sitting around watching grown men talk on phones, write on paper and take pictures with the commissioner. That sounds like a blast, if you are on the edge of your seat for the draft I suggest you reevaluate your life.

In real news though the Cleveland Browns have said they will not take quarterback Johnny Manziel with the 4th overall pick. That could mean the Browns expect Teddy Bridgewater to be there at 26 when they pick again.

#AskCommish

PR departments around the country take notice. If your social media coordinator says ‘lets do a Twitter Q&A’ you stomp your foot down and say no! Not a chance in hell anyone in any sort of power should do there. The NYPD and the NCAA’s #AskEmmert should be prime examples of this. The NFL though in their infinite wisdom believed everyone liked Commissioner Roger Goodell. They were wrong.

Video of the Day

I’ve never cut down a tree, I’ve seen trees get cut down and I stand back. Chances of me cutting down a tree after seeing this? Slim to none. Why don’t you just cut it at the bottom and drop it, then cut the branches off? Problem solved, but hell the south knows everything right? Not my position to question Jerry and the boys.

P.s. yes call an ambulance, by the time it gets to that secluded forest he might not make it. That guy looked like he got punched by a transformer.
