Could there have been a better day in Ohio Sports? The Cincinnati Reds won, the Cincinnati Cyclones won, and the Columbus Blue Jackets won, honestly when is the last time you went to bed happy?

While all those teams were winning a number of people were glued to their TV watching the NFL unveil their regular season schedule. Yes, adults with jobs say around their television set and watched grown men get excited over what team plays who each week. Woooo, so exciting, almost as exciting as watching Drake lint roll his pants.

Yeah in case you haven’t picked up on it yet I think unveiling the NFL schedule with a two hour TV special is about the dumbest thing possible. If you are that excited for the schedule look at it when it gets posted on line, spend a minute looking at it then say cool and move on. Personally I’m a Packers fan and I have yet to look at the schedule, don’t care. But hey, the Bengals schedule is posted on the site so check it out.

Cincinnati Reds (10-11)

Another night in Pittsburgh and another win for the Reds. Alfredo Simon led the Reds to a 5-2 win thanks in part to another solid outing by the reliever turned starter. Simon went 6.2 innings strong, allowing 4 hits, 2 earned runs while walking 5 batters and striking out 4. Simon has done a great job starting for the Reds this season, his ERA remains low, 1.30.

Billy Hamilton continues to improve, Wednesday night Hamilton went 2-5 driving in a run and steal a base, his ninth of the season. While Hamilton starts to warm up, Devin Mesoraco is on absolute fire. His batting average is an astronomical .525, let that sink in for awhile.

The Reds return to PNC Park Thursday at 12:35pm for the final game of the series.

Bengals Schedule

The Bengals 2014 season schedule came out Wednesday night. There were no real surprises, the typical six divisional games, and games against the Patriots and Colts. The Bengals will host a Monday night game against the Denver Broncos. They will also play the Cleveland Browns on a Thursday night game.

NFL flex scheduling can take place in Week 5 this season, that means the Bengals could have more primetime games or they could lose a primetime game.

Cincinnati Cyclones

With a 2-0 series lead the Cyclones came back to Cincinnati for Game 3 against the Orlando Solar Bears. While the offense dominated in the first two games of the series it was the defense that kept the Cyclones in the game Wednesday. A 2-1 win gives the Cyclones a 3-0 series lead. With the lead the Cyclones also have confidence they can win in an offensive explosive game and they can win in a defensive shutout.

The Cyclones look to close out the series Friday night at 7:35pm at US Bank Arena.

Columbus Blue Jackets

I didn’t get to check out the Jackets game tonight. What I do know is the Jackets came back from a 3-0 deficit to send the game to overtime where the Blue Jackers netted the game winning goal. The series is tied 2-2 as it heads back to Pittsburgh.
