4/21 Dark Dark Evening Update: Reds, Jackets, NBA Playoffs

facebooktwitterreddit

Jeez, what a crappy night for my sport teams, this day was a busy one for me, University of Cincinnati has exam week and I got two down, one more to go. After that, my summer begins, and next year I will be a Senior, holy moly time files!

Now to back to sports.

Cincinnati Reds: The Reds are in Pittsburgh to take on the Pirates, a start of four game series. Well, they lost in walk off fashion to the Pirates 6-5. Neil Walker had the game winning hit and JJ Hoover was the losing pitcher. I’ve now grown so impatient with him, y’all now Matt Niehaus, he writes for this website, he always expresses his dislike of Hoover. Now, I’m seeing why he does. The top of the 8th inning the Reds regained the lead, but could have had a bigger inning if it was not for bad base running and horrible coaching decisions, aka the third base coach, I miss Mark Berry.  Oh, well there’s tomorrow I guess.

Columbus Blue Jackets: Man, what a tough one for the young Jackets. Watching the game and seeing the atmosphere at Nationwide Arena, I wish I was there. First home playoff game in five years the Jackets, and it could have started any better for them. Rookie Boone Jenner got his first playoff career goal, four minutes into the game and the roof was about to explode inside Nationwide. A minute and a half later, Jack Johnson connected on his 3rd goal of the postseason to put Columbus up 2-0 and literally the roof came off.

The Penguins got on the board with .7 left in the 2nd period, to give them momentum and cut the Jackets lead to 2-1. In the third, Cam Atkinson scored his first career playoff goal to put Columbus up 3-1. Then the Pens showed their skill set, three unanswered goals in a span of 2:09, to give them the lead.

Unfortunately, the Jacket lost a tough one 4-3, Pens regain home ice advantage

and the series at 2-1. Game 4 is on Wednesday night.

NBA Playoffs:

Just now watched a great game between the Oklahoma City and the Memphis Grizzles. Memphis won Game 2  111-105, and has tied the best of seven series with OKC at one game a piece. OKC is the two seed in the west and Memphis is the 7th.

Right now, Game 2 of the Warriors and Clippers game is on TNT, Golden State has a 1-0 series lead, after getting a huge win Saturday on the road in Game 1.

Update: Clips are destroying the Warriors, looks like the series will be tied at 1 by the nights end.

Well, crappy sports night, but this video always put my in a good mood, Katt Williams going in on the Wild N Out tv show.
