The Bengals put two more players on season ending injured reserve today, making the number of players on IR to nine and twelve overall.

Backup tight end Alex Smith, who played in every game this season, had his season ended after he dislocated his wrist yesterday on his first start.

Another player on defense is on the IR list, defensive end Devon Still, he suffered a herniated disc in practice on December 18th. Still has had a tough time this season getting on the field because of injures. He missed four games earlier in the season with a shoulder injury.

The team replaced Still with free agent Ogemdi Nwabuno, a fourth year DT from Michigan State. The 6″5, 315 pounder has played in 36 NFL games with six career starts with San Diego (2009-2011) and Carolina (2011).

He has 44 career tackles, and 1.5 sacks, two pass defended and a fumble recovery. We are pretty sure he won’t be active on Sunday. The Bengals are still looking to fill one more spot with a tight end.

Also today, they signed free agent cornerback Brandon Burton and DT Zach Minter to Reserve/Future contracts, which means they won’t be on the roster until the Monday after the Super Bowl.

We also want to point out there is still 10,000 tickets available for Sunday wild card game against the San Diego Chargers, Call 621- TDTD (8383). The club director of sales and public affairs says, the NFL has a target date of a couple thousand when determining a 24- hour extension from Thursday at 1pm to Friday 1pm in effort to get a sellout so the game can be televised locally. Okay Bengals fans, if you can afford then damn it go buy it. This team has great chance of finally winning a playoff game in 23 years.
