Everyone involved with the Xavier University Men’s Basketball team got a nice surprise last night, as 4-star shooting guard, JP Macura, committed to Xavier.

The Musketeers probably were not expecting Macura to come to XU, his campus visit was only one week ago, but his commitment is big for them, especially considering the schools he could have pick. Some notable schools that offered him scholarships were Saint Louis, Purdue, North Carolina State, Minnesota, Miami (FL), Kansas State, Iowa State, Butler, and Creighton.

Macura, a 6’5 Minnesota native, is said to be an aggressive scorer, and a very good shooter from inside and outside the three point line. He also is a very smart decision maker, he knows how to move the ball around the floor, but isn’t afraid to shoot. He has a lot of confidence in himself, something that a shooting guard must have to be successful. His defense is said to be average, but he is a hard worker and will improve over time.
