Bearcats vs Boilermakers Preview.

The Cincinnati Bearcats will open the season tomorrow afternoon at Nippert Stadium (12pm) to take on the Purdue Boilermakers out of the Big Ten Conference. The game will be broadcast nationally on ESPNU or you can hear the game on 700 WLW, if you are heading to the game wear white its a White out and they expect a record crowd for the game.

Purdue finished the 2012 season at 6-7 and 3-5 in conference play and while the Bearcats tied for a share of the final Big East title at 5-2 and finished the season with an overall record of 10-3 after beating the Duke Blue Devils in the Belk Bowl. They will come to the season as second favorites to Louisville to win the first ever AAC (American Athletic Conference) title.

The Boilermakers have a bunch of new personal with new quarterback Rob Henry and new head coach Darrell Hazell. Their running back Akeem Hunt will be carrying the load and he was a backup back last season. Their defense was ranked 89th in points allowed in the nation giving up 31.2 points per game. They return 8 starters from the defensive side.

The Bearcats will also have a new face in charge of the team in Tommy Tubervile as their new head coach. Senior quarterbacks Munchie Legaux and Brendan Kay split time last season at the position, and as of now appears

Defense was ranked 14th in the nation in allowing points 18.5 per game. Retuning starters on the unit will include linebacker Greg Blair, corner back Devon Drane and safety Arryn Chenault.

Game Prediction:

The Boilermakers coming into this game and the year with too many questions on both sides of the ball, and the Bearcats are looking to start the Tubervile era in a good note which i believe they will.
