young third baseman, his 2 hit and 3 runs scored is the biggest story of the night fittingly on Todd Frazier night at GABP. And the fact that the Reds have won 3 straight and beat the Padres 7-2, something they couldn’t do a few weeks ago in San Diego.

Bronson Arroyo was on the mound for the Reds looking for his 10th win of the season, he would get it. Arroyo went 7 innings strong, striking out 7 along the way and only allowing 4 hits on the night. Arroyo who likely won’t be in a Reds uniform next season has continued to impress at times this season.

The Reds offense has finally found some life during this home stand. Joey Votto, Brandon Phillips and Todd Frazier led the team in hitting today, Votto and Phillips both came up big with 2 RBI apiece.

Ryan Hanigan returned from the DL tonight as Corky Miller was placed on the DL from a leg contusion he suffered in a collision at the plate Wednesday afternoon. Hanigans return was welcomed by some and booed by others. Devin Mesoraco the back up catcher has been batting .305 since the All-Star break, he was rewarded with 3 days off by Dusty Baker. Haningan is a great pitch caller but his .190 batting average is concerning.

For once though a game has come and gone without a Dusty Baker pitching controversy, without a moan when Frazier struck out, all in all it was a great game for Reds fans tonight, at no point was it ever in doubt.
