Cincinnati Cyclones Win Game 3
By Matt Niehaus
In what most would call a win or die situation for the Cincinnati Cyclones on Wednesday night the Cyclones showed their heart
and took a 3-2 victory over the Reading Royals.
Cincinnati entered this game tonight at US Bank Arena trailing 2-0 to Reading, two losses that both came in overtime. Cincinnati came out shooting again like they have for the most part during the playoffs so far. A loss tonight would have all but doomed and finished the Cyclones. A 3-0 lead is basically a series win, I can think of 2 or 3 playoff series in the last 10 years where the a team trailing 3-0 came back to win 4 in a row.
The Cyclones held a 2-0 lead early in the third period then halfway through the third the Royals scored, trailing by one goal they netted a tie with about 90 seconds left in the game. The game went to overtime because why not, the first two did so naturally the third had to as well.
In the overtime period if a team doesn’t score in the first five minutes you can count on it being awhile before the next goal. That happened tonight when it took 16 minutes for the Cyclones to net the game winning goal giving them their first win of the series.
Game 4 is Friday night at US Bank Arena, show up and support the team.
