Cincinnati Stumbles In St. Louis

After coming off back to back road wins for the first time this season the Cincinnati Reds went for three in a row on Tuesday night, unfortunately they came up one run short. A three run road win streak would have done wonders for the team and the fans. A two win streak is decent.

Tuesday night started off well for the Reds, Bronson Arroyo looked good through the first five innings. Cincinnati was able to put one run on the board when Shin Soo Choo doubled to deep left allowing Derrick Robinson to score the games only run at that point.

In the sixth inning one bad pitch from Arroyo led to a Matt Holliday  2 run home run and subsequently doomed the Reds for the night. Arroyo was pulled after the 7th with only 78 pitches on his count. For some reason Dusty did see a reason to let Arroyo finish the game out. From the 7th on out the offense for both teams was stagnant.

The Reds offense has slowly been coming back to life over the past three games. The Reds recorded 7 hits tuesday night much better than the one hit blunders over the weekend. Against the Cardinals though a low amount of runs is expected. Both teams have exceptional pitchers and both teams don’t like each other, they both get up for these series.
