Cincinnati’s big gain, getting the best tight end in the draft by far in the mid-to late first round. It was a great steal for a team that needs more offensive playmakers.

Eifert has drawn comparssions to New England Patriots TE star Rob Gronkowsi because of the number of mismatches he creates. Eifert is 6-6, 251 pounds and was Notre Dame best passing receiver by far last season.

The pick is a surprise to some others considering they have Jermaine Gresham is on the roster. More Double- TE sets could be run for Andy Dalton, who already has AJ Green on the outside. Gresham and Eifert aren’t going to be Gronk and Hernandez, but it’s close second that’s how good Tyler can be.

While watching a couple of Notre Dame football games Eifert has leaping ability and frame, he makes himself even bigger and can be used on jump balls around the goaline, and he can be a reliable third down target who becomes a quarterback best friend. The sky’s limit and he’ll become an elite target fits the mold in Jay Gruden’s offense. So to all ya’ll Bengals fans that are upset with the pick clearly you don’t get how much of a steal this is.
