The Bengals hosted former Dolphins middle linebacker Carlos Dansby this morning at Paul Brown. In addition to Dansby the team also hosted former Cardinals safety Kerry Rhodes on tuesday, coincidentally both players share the same agent.

Carlos Dansby is a middle linebacker who recorded 132 tackles last season with Miami. If the Bengals were to sign Dansby that would create a slight problem in the secondary for the Bengals. The team resigned middle linebacker Rey Maualuga earlier this off season. One player would obviously have to change positions, look for it to be Dansby if he signs with the team. Maualuga is a captain within the team so there is always the chance he takes one for the team an moves but it seems highly unlikely.

Kerry Rhodes was also in town on tuesday to meet with the team. Rhodes is coming off a good season with the Cardinals in which he recorded 67 tackles and 4 interceptions. Rhodes is obviously looking for a team that has a chance to win and Cincinnati would be a good fit for the Bengals but they seem to be set at that position. He would most likely slot in well at the free safety position replacing Reggie Nelson. So other than being able to get Rhodes for a deal it doesn’t make much sense.

Good news for Bengals fans is the team is making moves. Something they generally have not done. 2013 could be a good year for the Bengals to move past the wildcard round.
